Don’t Waste a Good Audience

I’m about to tell you to do something I’ve repeatedly failed to do myself. Hypocritical? Maybe. But let’s both agree to be better from now on.

I’m talking about having a clear, unmistakable call to action (CTA) on everything you put out into the world.

Getting someone to read your blog, email, or post is hard enough. The last thing you want is for them to consume your content, nod thoughtfully… and then wander off without taking action.

At Sponge, we write blogs to show off how ridiculously smart we are at new business. We want you to think, “Damn, these guys know their stuff.” But we don’t always follow through with an obvious next step. We assume that, as a bright and perceptive individual, you’ll naturally decide to get in touch. But why make it harder for you?

So here’s the lesson: Every piece of content should have a trail of breadcrumbs leading somewhere useful. A "Contact Us” button. A "Let’s chat” link. A "Book a call” form. Something - anything - that moves the conversation forward.

So, let’s practice what we preach:

📧 Email me now at matt@spongenb.com
📱 Call me on 07768 905464
📲 Follow me on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, MySpace (okay, maybe not MySpace)

And if you want to see me twerking, well… that’s a whole different business model.
